Kosmo SDP

Lloke x Tsjerk

This year at the Northwest Friesian Horse Assoc. Monroe, WA keuring, Kosmo SDP was awarded 1st premi and than recieved the award for Champion of the colts. At the end of the day, the award for Best of Show, Kosmo recieved Reserve Champion.

We knew Kosmo was something special the day he was born. The judges, Jan Hendricks and Ed Pouw, went to great details explaining to the crowd Kosmo's confimation, walk, and trot. They said this is what they are looking for in a friesian foal. Namkje has again produced another champion foal for us. This is her fourth 1st premi champion foal.

Kosmo recieved the following scores. Wow! We can not wait to see how he matures.

Kosmo SDP

On May 17th Rainier Friesians was again blessed with beautiful colt Kosmo sired by Lolke 371 out of ster mare Namkje x Tsjerk. Namkje has done it again and provided us with an outstanding colt. Namkje is an amazing horse. She has provided us with eight beautiful foals. Now at the age of fifteen she still has the confirmation, presence, movement as she did when she was awarded ster at four years old. She is just like her sire Tsjerk which we had the fortune of visiting in Holland at the stallion show this year prior to his passing at the age of 21. Tjserk still brought the house down at the stallion show. Kosmo has the beauty and grace of his dams sire Tsjerk and the strength and confirmation of Lolke. With these two colts we just had, we anticipate they will make a fabulous driving pair for us and a great dressage prospect.

Leroy SDP - SOLD

Rainier Friesians is proud to announce our new colt Leroy born 4/2/2011. He is out of 1st premi ster mare Hinke (sire Sape 381) and his sire is the incredibly talented stallion Nanning 374. Leroy is only a week old in these pictures and displaying the desireable traits of Nanning. We are very excited to add this new colt to our heard and have great expectations for him.

3/5/2011

2011 is looking to be an exciting year here at Rainier Friesians, we are expecting two foals this spring. Our ster mare Hinke is expecting her 3rd foal the first part of April. Hinke is bred to the late Nanning 374. Nanning was an incredibly talented stallion with a personality to match. The combination of Nanning with Hinke (sire Sape 381) should make one of the most beautiful and talented foals we have bred.

In addition we have our ster mare Namkje (sire Tsjerk) expecting her 8th foal from the wonderfully talented Lolke 371. With Anton 343 now retired, Lolke continues to carry on the magnificent qualities of this stallion line. Lolke was chosen as one of the stallions to perform at the opening ceremonies at WEG in 2010. With the beauty and talent of Lolke and the graceful beauty of Namkje this foal will be one of a kind. And then Namkje, what a mare, this is her 8th foal and she still has the conformation and energy of a three year old. Namkje is an elegant graceful horse that has produced beautiful foals for us, with 4 of the 7 foals achieving 1st premi and champion at their keurings.

Our beautiful gelding, Gandalf, (below) was awarded his Ster at the
September 2009 Keuring!

Friesian Horse Club of North America 20th Anniversary Celebration in Reno, NV
October 2009
We brought Namjke and Heinke down to Reno, along with Nicolien, who used to be in our herd before she found her loving home. There were over 250 Friesians in attendance and a great number of winners in the many show competetions from our farm and the Northwest Friesian Horse Club. Click on the photo or link to see a collection of photos from the events. One of the funnest items was the "Fantasy Costume Class" at the show. Many of the members of our Northwest Friesian Horse Club participated with a "Wizard of Oz" theme. Check out the scarecrow and wicked witch, if you want to see us!

CDE at Inavale
July 2009
And here we go again, Inavale OR, what a beautful place to ride and drive your horse. It was hot that weekend, but Steve and Namkje proved they could go up against the best. It was a great time and I know now Steve will continue driving.

CDE at Happs (CDE = Carriage Driving Essentials)
June 2009
This was our first attenment at a CDE compitition, and what fun. Steve went out there with our 13 year old mare Namkje and had a wonderful time. In the dressage test they proved their ability to work together by receiving a score of 42 %, then at the cone it was a bit harder, but still a very respectable time. When they hit the marathon course you should have seem them what a team and what a fun time. I think I have him hooked on driving !!!
